Proof of Connection to Ireland
Every applicant for a .ie domain name must have a real connection to Ireland
Applicants can provide documentation to prove identity and connection to Ireland, this will ensure your application is processed without delay and further requests.
Domains are accepted by the Irish Registry under the following categories
- Individual
- Business
- Charitable Organization
Documentation in support of your application should be uploaded via the following secure link: https://www.myconnection.ie
To ensure that the document is uploaded to the correct application, please use the ticket reference for your application found in your client area.
If you do not have a ticket reference number yet, please bear in mind that that Irish Registry operate during normal business hours.
1.Individual
To show your connection with the island of Ireland and evidence of personal identity, please provide any JUST ONE of the following:
- Irish passport
- Irish driving licence/UK driving licence (showing Northern Ireland address)
- RBN/VAT number (sole trader)
- Irish/Northern Irish bank statement showing an address in the island of Ireland (must be dated inside 6 months)
- Official college ID (from a college recognised by the Department of Education)
- Public Services Card
- Correspondence from Ireland’s Revenue Commissioners showing your PPS number (from this or the previous Tax year)
- Utility bill showing an Irish address (must be dated inside 6 months and accompanied by a passport or driving licence)
2.Business
To show your connection to Ireland as a company or self employed person, please provide JUST ONE of the following:
- RBN/CRO number – find yours here.
- VAT number (company registered in Republic of Ireland / Northern Ireland).
- Tax clearance certificate from Ireland’s Revenue Commissioners (or other correspondence from them showing your VAT number).
