Outlook not working with IMAP

Symptoms of this issue are:

  • Mail not populating when using IMAP on Outlook
  • Sent Items, Outbox, Junk Email folder etc. show up as the subfolders of the Inbox folder.

Until Microsoft releases an update to fix the issue, use the following workaround:

1 . Navigate to Home > Info > Account Settings > Account Settings:

settings 1

2. Select the Email account and Select Change:

settings 2

3. Set the Root Folder Path to INBOX (in caps) as below and select Next:

settings 3

4. Finally Close:

settings 4

Mail should now sync correctly from your mail server.
